Today I
participated in a local boulder contest the Olieboulderborrel Contest XL 2017
at Bouldermuur Den Haag. The qualification was 50 boulders. I managed to do 41
which was just enough to enter the finals.
The finals
consisted of 4 boulders and 5 contestants. Together we had to climb these four
boulders within 20 minutes. The boulders were quite hard, especially after the
exhausting qualification. I managed to flash boulder 4, a slab boulder which
two other guys also climbed. Boulder 1 was really hard, I did not even touch
it. Boulder 2 looked okay but I wanted to focus on boulder 3, a large dyno.
After a lot of attempts I managed to stick the top. That felt great and it
secured my victory. I tried a couple more times in boulder 2 and could touch
the bonus hold but not fix it. Two tops were enough for the first place.
I had a
very enjoyable day with lots of nice boulders, good company and of course
“Oliebollen”.
